I don't know if this was factory or the last owner, but every single screw and retaining ring was slathered in loctite.
One of the lens groups is crimped and cannot be opened, and if it gets water in it during cleaning, like mine did, then it's a goner. The hat-shaped group CAN be opened, though, and contains 3 elements of which one is permanently attached to the metal sleeve.
This one turned into a parts lens which is a shame.
